The Township is very excited to organize this event and to bring it back after a two-year absence. Families can look forward to colourful characters\, impressive floats and much more.The Christmas Parade will take place on Friday\, December 2\, 2022\, at 6:30 p.m.\, depart from the Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) and proceed on Perreault St\, along Highway 34\, and then on Home Av\, Stanley\, Higginson\, Derby\, Main St East at the street light of County Road 10 and Highway 34.This parade is not possible without the support of partners and\, of course\, lots of floats! We have plenty of creative people in our Township so let’s take this one to the next level. Applications to participate in the Champlain Christmas Parade are now being accepted for floats\, walking groups and marching bands. Registration is free and a great way to showcase your community involvement. But\, as often happened in 2020\, well laid plans were derailed due to the COVID pandemic. Unable to attend the Artists’ Residency in person\, the seven artists did their best to adapt to the situation and made plans to regularly “meet” virtually to see what we were all working on. It was during one of these meetings the plan was hatched to challenge each other to biweekly art prompts. Each artist would show a work of art in their medium and the remaining 6 artists would create a piece in their own medium based on the visual prompt.
